Cornerstone Productions 2010 Season

Cornerstone productions is currently in the process of creating it's casting and staffing agenda for 2010. Please look for us in "Back Stage" and the AEA casting notices.

Cornerstone Productions is always seeking attractions to partner with or production companies to co-produce new productions. We are expanding our market base and are always looking for new exciting acts and talent to entertain our patrons.

Musicians: We welcome resumes & recordings for musicians who are proficient enough for studio recordings. We also need pianists to play for auditions and who can arrange music.

Please prepare two selections: 32 bars of an up-tempo Broadway-style song and 32 bars of a ballad. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to present a comic monologue, if asked.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Dance callbacks: next day, (Sunday Feb 14th) from 11 AM – 1: PM. Be prepared to dance.

Seeking these shows:

Shamrocked: An Irish-American song, dance and comedy revue with Irish step dancing, comic sketches and some traditional Irish ballads.

Looking for 2 men (1 tenor and 1 Baritone) and 1 woman with versatile voice. Everyone must be able to tap.

Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows: A three person musical comedy about a husband and wife, Frank and Tiffany, who are about to get a divorce and Beatrice, a woman with multiple personality disorder who is charged with assaulting an officer. They are all stuck in a sealed off 1960’s fallout shelter beneath a court house after their elevator malfunctions and drops 50 feet beneath the building.

Character Break Down:

Tiffany (Belter) is an uptight workaholic who sells real-estate and blames everything on her husband.

Beatrice (Versatile voice) is a quiet and shy woman who has multiple personality disorder. Her other personalities are Cindy, Martha and Larry. Cindy is a selfless housewife who loves to give great advice and says things like, "Oh my" a lot. She also has many pearly words of wisdom. Martha is a jolly woman who gesticulates and laughs compulsively and only speaks using combinations of words that make no sense together in a sentence. She is the only one who understands what she is saying. Larry is a belligerent, compulsive liar who says lewd things all the time.

All must be able to act, sing and move very well.

1st rehearsal: April 12th 2010 in Mystic CT. Runs April 26th – June 9th, six shows/week in Mystic CT. (4 shows) $189 week minimum.

Ben Dover & The American Dream is a story about Ben Dover and his struggle to achieve the American dream. 3 person cast. 1 man and 2 woman. Everyone plays multiple Characters.

Character Break Down:

Ben: (Baritone) Plays two characters. 1.) Ben: a struggling self employed entrepreneur who runs his business from a back room in his sister Miriam’s self defense school for women. Ben is a benevolent man who tries to solve everyone’s problems and is always available for everyone including his sister who uses him to demonstrate groin kicks.
2.) Isaac: Ben’s brother who is a financially successful businessman who uses deceptive business practices to make money. He constantly takes advantage of Ben and loves to brag about his business schemes. Miriam: (Mainly a belter) Plays multiple small characters but mainly Miriam who is a bundle of energy and extremely impressed with herself and her ability to beat up men.

Liora: (Versatile voice) Plays multiple small characters but mainly Liora who is strong willed, just and always seeking answers. Liora is the only one to recognize Ben’s attributes and is the only student of Miriam's who refuses to kick Ben in the nuts.

All must be able to act, sing and dance.

1st rehearsal: July 12th, 2010 in Mystic CT. Runs July 20th – August 15th, four shows/week in Mystic CT. (4 shows) $189 week minimum.

Star Spangled: A three person patriotic song dance and sketch comedy revue with a lot of tap dancing. No cast breakdown. The show will be curtailed to the people who are cast. All must be able to sing dance and act.

1st rehearsal: September 20th, 2010 in Mystic CT. Runs September 28th-October 20th, (4 shows) $189 week minimum.

Cratchit’s Christmas: A three person high energy holiday musical revue. The show will be curtailed to the people who are cast. All must be able to sing & dance.

1st rehearsal: October 25th, 2010 in Mystic CT. Runs November 6th-December19th, (6 Show per week) $357/week minimum.
Holiday musical revue with sketch comedy.

Producer’s statement: "Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds encouraged to attend."
