Cornerstone Productions is dedicated to bringing audience and performers together in an uplifting theatrical experience, with style, wit, and compassion for the audience. The company strives to create an environment where musical gems from the past are re-invented and rediscovered, where innovative new musicals are cultivated, and where diverse and multi faceted artists can showcase their talents in quality professional productions.

Cornerstone Productions, established on April 1, 2000, is a professional theatre company now located in Mystic CT. Founded by Artistic Director, Karl Gasteyer and Company President, Hunter Charnow, Cornerstone began its journey with the objective of presenting quality productions in an intimate theater setting. Through artistic collaboration with talented and dedicated performers, musicians and technical staff, Cornerstone has produced dozens of dynamic original works and musical reviews that have uniquely brought audiences and performers together in large and small theaters all over the northeast.

In 2005 Cornerstone became a member of The Actors Equity Association, allowing the company to cast performers from the same talent pool as Broadway producers and other first rate production companies. (The Actors Equity Association is one of the oldest trade unions in the US representing over 48,000 actors and stage managers.)

One of Cornerstone's landmark productions was The Crack Free Handyman, Cornerstone's first all original musical which played successfully to large audiences at The Garde Arts Center in New London, CT and The Tropicana Show Room in Atlantic City.

In May 2008, the company found a permanent home in The Olde Mystic Village, a re-creation of a 1720 colonial New England Community. The property sports 60 specialty shops, is well maintained and offers manicured paths lined with mature foliage. The complex has a large, easily accessible parking area and is located on I-95 immediately off exit 90 north and south.

The Cornerstone Playhouse is a newly renovated 237-seat theater created to be the perfect intimate performing space for Cornerstone's unique style of entertainment. The location is ideal with unique shopping and dining opportunities to complement the live theater experience, and Mystic's geographical placement is also well suited for theatergoers to combine a theater outing with, the nearby, Mohegan Sun Casino or Foxwoods Resort Casino.
